Buy ski passes through official channels
Use the official ticket offices, kiosks or the online channel linked by Bansko Ski. Do not buy a used pass: passes are personal and may be deactivated.
Get the full rental or lesson price in writing
Confirm what is included, the number of days, return or damage terms and your receipt. For lessons, verify the school, duration, level and meeting point.
Agree the journey before a taxi or transfer
Use an organised transfer, your hotel reception or an identifiable provider. Confirm the destination and total cost before leaving, and retain the vehicle details.
Check the bill before paying
At restaurants and bars, review quantities, extras and any service charge. If something looks different from your order, ask calmly before completing payment.

Is Bansko safe to visit?
For most visitors, Bansko is a normal, organised European winter destination. Everyday travel awareness around payments, belongings and unofficial offers is generally appropriate.
Are there scams in Bansko?
There is no reason to treat Bansko as a dangerous destination. As at any popular resort, be cautious with unofficial ski-pass resale, prices that have not been confirmed in writing and journeys without an agreed total cost. Clear terms and a receipt are usually enough.
Can I buy a ski pass from another traveller?
No. The official conditions prohibit resale and transfer, and a pass used by another person may be deactivated.
What should I ask a ski-rental shop?
Ask for the total price, duration, exact equipment, size-change arrangements, damage and return terms, and a receipt.
What if a service differs from my booking?
